You May Have Noticed…
Hello, you may have noticed our name changed to the Mind, Brain, Body Digest!
I view us as a team & community, so today I’d like to pierce the veil, and share some behind the scenes with you about this change, and the future of this blog.
Be sure to read this one to the end because I’ve got a Founding Member surprise for you…
Why the Shift?
There are a couple of reasons for this shift…
First of all, when I first started writing these it was to 5-7 close friends & family…
Today, we have hundreds of people reading these blogs every week from all over the world, and I’ve learned a ton since publishing the first issue of the Heroes Digest in Jan 2022.
One of those things is discoverability… Having a blog that has a different name than all of your Social Media accounts is confusing, and makes it harder for people to find us!
The second reason is more personal and will take a bit longer to explain which is understanding the reason why I love writing and educating on mind, brain & body.
To do that, let’s start with our initial name, the Heroes Digest.
Where Did “Heroes” Come From?
Great question, I’m glad you asked.
The Heroes Digest name came from the methodology I created & use with my clients called the Me 2.0 Method in which they each create a “Hero” to help them along their journey.
If you’d like to learn more about me personally, and about where this concept came from, I did a speech about my first-ever client here:
**I skipped to the start of the story in the video, so if you’re wondering why the video is like 4mins into the video when you click the link above, that’s why.**
After you watch, you’ll understand why I believe in the Hero Creation process so much.
That being said, I remind each of my clients when we start that they are already a Hero.
Even before starting to work with me, they are a Hero, and so are you.
This is because my definition of a Hero is:
“An ordinary person put into an extraordinary circumstance, who takes ACTION.”
This definition is the bridge between the “Hero” concept, and the mind, brain & body.
Action, as it turns out, is hard to do without a mind, brain & body.
It also turns out that the things that prevent people from taking action are generally inside their minds, brain & body as well.
Meaning, the things that make people feel like they aren’t Heroes are in these areas too!
As you’ve probably noticed as a subscriber to this blog, this cross-over between what it means to be a “Hero” & the mind, brain & body is what I write about most often.
I love using my background in Neuroscience & Personal Development to help people solve this problem for themselves, and live more Heroically.
This is why our mission here is to teach you:
“Practical Neuroscience & Psychology tools for your Mind, Brain & Body to improve your Mental & Emotional Health, so you can live a happy & purpose-filled life.”
This is what it means to “Live Heroically”, it’s the ideal blend of happiness & having a clear vision for your future & purpose.
It’s the reason why each of my posts ends with “Live Heroically” and they still will, however, going forward, only you, the first Heroes in our community will know why!
Getting to this place may seem easy when it’s laid out in perfect little quadrants, but life is messy and relenting.
That means Living Heroically is less a destination, and more a commitment to continuous improvement.
My hope is that each of these blogs teaches you something you can use to get 1% better each week and aid you on this journey!
Let’s Talk About the Future
I hope by now you can see why I believe the Mind, Brain, Body Digest feels like it more accurately describes what I write about here.
I also hope you enjoyed the peek behind the hood today.
After writing 1 of these every week for 16 months, I still enjoy the process and putting new posts out in these areas.
Moving forward, I am looking to add some more flavor to these blogs, and pour more energy into you, our community of Heroes.
So, here are some things I’ve got cooking:
Youtube videos diving deeper into the concepts of each blog
Audio recordings of each blog you can listen to when you don’t have time to read
Discounts, deals, & access to brands I believe in and use myself
Special edition blogs written by guest writers like scientists & researchers
A premium subscription that will include things like access to our Learning Center, Live Q&A’s with me, & other exclusive content
A Mind, Brain, Body Lab Community
A Mind, Brain, Body Lab Podcast
As you can tell, this is only the beginning, and I appreciate each and every one of you for being here.
I couldn’t do any of these things without you. I am so grateful for you and your dedication to living like a Hero.
That being said, if you’ve made it this far, I’d like to make you a special offer.
