Interesting topic!

There seem to be a lot of different kinds of breathwork (I would add "coherent breathing" to the list). All the ones I've tried slow my heart rate and make me feel calm. Does it matter what sort of breathing exercise you do, or just that you do one at all? Has there been research comparing different kinds of breathwork, or are we still at the stage of showing breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system and is good for mental health and trauma recovery?
